Before you book
The questions patients ask most, answered directly. If yours isn't here, the consultation exists to answer it, and Dr. Southern will tell you honestly when the answer is that we cannot help.
Everything patients ask
Do you take insurance?
No, by design. Insurance was built to manage disease, not optimize biology. Operating outside it lets us design protocols around you rather than a billing code, with the time and therapies that actually move the needle.
Which therapy is right for me?
That's what the consultation is for. Dr. Southern reviews your history, goals, and labs, then recommends a protocol: often combining stem cell, exosome, and IV ozone therapy, which work synergistically.
Is stem cell therapy FDA-approved?
No, and any clinic telling you otherwise is misinforming you. The FDA has approved certain cord-blood-derived products for a narrow set of blood and immune disorders. The mesenchymal cell therapies used in regenerative medicine, including ours, are not FDA-approved products. What we can tell you is exactly what we do use: cells from screened donor tissue, donated after healthy full-term births with donor consent, with sourcing documentation available for you to review at your consultation. Dr. Southern will walk you through what the current evidence supports for your specific situation, and what it does not. We would rather you hear that from us than discover it later.
Do you offer hormone therapy or weight loss?
Hormone optimization and medical weight loss are available at Nascent, calibrated from comprehensive lab work. PRP and regenerative aesthetics are coming soon.
Where do the stem cells come from?
Umbilical cord tissue donated after healthy, full-term births with donor consent, not embryonic tissue. Sourcing and screening documentation is available for you to review at consultation.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends entirely on what is being addressed and how you respond. Many protocols are a single treatment with structured follow-up; others are staged. You will know the plan before you commit to anything.
Does insurance cover it?
No. Regenerative therapies are not reimbursed by insurance, which is precisely why they are not offered in conventional practices.
Are exosomes the same as stem cells?
No. Stem cells are whole cells; exosomes are the signaling vesicles cells use to communicate. Many protocols use both because they play complementary roles.
How soon would I notice anything?
Response varies substantially between patients and by what is being addressed. Dr. Southern will set realistic expectations for your specific protocol at consultation rather than quote a timeline that may not apply to you.
Can exosome therapy be combined with other treatments?
Yes, that is the norm here. Exosome, stem cell, and IV ozone therapy are designed as one synergistic system, and most protocols draw on more than one.
Is there a concierge option for working with Dr. Southern?
Yes. The Reserve is our VIP, white-glove program: a private, application-only practice with Dr. Southern directly, with priority access and a protocol designed and managed one-on-one. You can read more on The Reserve page.
How is this different from an IV drip bar?
Formulations are prescribed by a physician from your comprehensive lab work as part of a treatment protocol, rather than selected from a standing menu. Dose, ingredients, and cadence are specific to you.
How long does an infusion take?
It varies by protocol. Standard nutrient infusions are relatively quick; NAD+ is deliberately slow and takes considerably longer. You will know the appointment length when you book.
Can I combine IV therapy with stem cell or exosome treatment?
Yes. The three therapies are designed as one synergistic system, and combining them in a single visit is common.
Is hormone optimization covered by insurance?
No. Like the rest of our care, it is a direct-pay service, though you can route the lab work through your insurance if you prefer, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted.
How is this different from testosterone clinics or online hormone services?
Mostly in what gets measured and who is watching. Your protocol is designed and monitored by Dr. Southern from a comprehensive panel, inside a practice that can also see and address the thyroid, metabolic, and inflammatory picture around your hormones.
How quickly will I feel different?
Response varies substantially between patients, and any clinic promising a specific timeline is guessing. What we commit to is measurement: follow-up labs on a set cadence, and honest adjustment based on what they show.
Can hormone optimization be combined with regenerative therapies?
Frequently, and that is one reason to address hormones here rather than in isolation. Hormonal status affects recovery and inflammation, so it is often sequenced alongside stem cell, exosome, or IV ozone protocols.
Is PRP available at Nascent right now?
Not yet. It is expanding soon at both clinics. A consultation now gets your workup and sequencing done ahead of launch, and gives you an honest read on whether an available therapy fits your concern better today.
How is PRP different from stem cell therapy?
PRP concentrates growth factors from your own blood; stem cell therapy delivers mesenchymal cells from screened donor tissue. They occupy different points on the same spectrum of regenerative signaling, and which one fits depends on the tissue involved and your goals.
Is PRP safe?
PRP uses your own blood, which removes donor-material questions, and it is delivered under sterile clinical conditions. Every therapy carries risk, which is reviewed with you directly at consultation rather than waved away.
Is regenerative aesthetics available now?
Not yet. It is expanding soon at both clinics. Raising it at consultation now means your plan is ready when the services open.
How is this different from Botox or fillers?
Botox relaxes muscle and fillers add volume; both act on the surface presentation. Regenerative aesthetics works on the tissue itself, stimulating your own collagen and repair signaling. They are different tools, and some patients ultimately use both.
Which treatment would I start with?
That depends on your skin and your goals, and it is decided at consultation rather than sold as a package. Where the internal picture is a factor, Dr. Southern will say so before any surface work is planned.
